Newcastleton is a small village, and whilst there are B and Bs and hotel rooms available, there are not many! The majority of our visitors camp for the weekend; we welcome tents, camper vans and caravans, and there are two main festival campsite options.
The first is a more secure site, on the park in the middle of the village,  less than 5 minutes walk from all venues. We have toilets, a tap for drinking water and helpful volunteer staff on this site.
There is also camping available alongside the river that runs by the village. We provide a couple of portaloos here, and the area is patrolled by both festival volunteers and the police, but it is not a secure site.
There is a modest charge for either option – without this charge we would not be able to continue to provide the toilet facilities, which are far from cheap!

Two years ago the generator on the main site was stolen in the few minutes it took for a staff change. This has caused us no end of hassle, and will mean a lesser level of provision for a few years. We hope to be able to go back to a proper toilet block soon, depending  on money of course, but for now there are a range of single portaloos.

Neither site can be booked, in nearly fifty years we have never yet run out of camping space, so just turn up!

Please note: NO fires on the park campsite, and no fires on the grass on the riverside!

(Also, it has occasionally been known to rain in Newcastleton – if the ground becomes wet and your vehicle has problems moving, please do not keep trying, but seek a steward for assistance then we can limit any damage to the grass, cheers.)
